Ozempic, Wegovy & GLP-1 Drugs: What Social Media Isn’t Telling You

GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Mounjaro are dominating weight-loss conversations online. A promise of an easy fix for weight loss. These injectable drugs were originally created for diabetes, but they’re now being used off-label for weight loss - and the results can be dramatic.
However....
What social media doesn’t always show is the side effects, long-term risks, or what happens when you stop. Nausea and fatigue are among the common concerns, but these drugs help you drop weight NOT just fat. Read that again - weight NOT fat. That means you're losing precious muscle and bone loss too! And once the injections stop or stop working, most people regain the weight if they haven’t built strong habits. But the harshest part of the weight regain - it's all fat.
So think about this logic: you get on a drug to lose weight - and you do. But you lost fat, muscle, and bone in the process - because you didn't eat right and did little resistance training. Then you get off the drug, and you put the weight back on because you didn't change your poor habits. Your body fat percentage just went up because you have less muscle and bone than when you started! Sounds great, right? Nope!
If you're going to embrace these drugs you need to adjust your nutrition and your fitness training or you're headed down a bad road that will eventually make you worse than when you started. Say, "this won't happen to me" all you want, but it's the truth.
